Hormone therapy is not a prerequisite to be a candidate for FTM/N Top Surgery. This is your choice and will not affect your ability to undergo Top Surgery. However, hormonal therapy often causes the breast tissue to moderately decrease in size and may cause hair to grow on the chest, offering a more desirable result for many patients. If you are starting hormone supplementation our board certified plastic surgeons do recommend waiting approximately 6 months for physical changes to stabilize before having your Top Surgery performed to ensure the best possible surgical results. However, we still recommend having a consultation with our providers to determine candidacy and scheduling.
